Youth Mentorship Program
At OCEC foundation we provide a coordinated program to support youth at risk in the community. Staff are under the clinical supervision of a mental health professional designed to help youth with serious and persistent mental illness to function and remain in the community with their loved ones. Our community support services program includes:
- Client outreach
- Medication monitoring
- Assistance in independent living skills
- Development of employability and work-related opportunities
- Crisis assistance
- Psychosocial rehabilitation
- Empowerment
- Housing support services
One-on-one instruction, or mentoring, is one of the oldest forms of teaching. Mentor programs work because they provide empowerment, encouragement and guidance to each adolescent or child that participates. These programs help break down barriers and creates long term opportunities for success.
